I prefer this French version of the name "Natalie." I like the "h" in the middle. It does for the name Natalie what it also does for the name "Sarah" (saraH instead of Sarai.) When God renamed Sarai in the Bible, changing her name into Sarah, the difference of that one letter changed the entire meaning of the name and made her a "princess", turned her into an eternal beauty who never faded and gained back her former youth at a very very old age! Her vitality and health were restored to her, as well. All after the name change from Sarai to Sarah; because in Hebrew the letter "H" represents the breath of God.
I was named after my great grandmother that was Spanish. As a child in school my name was very rare. Natalia is long for a kindergarten child to learn. I've always been nicknamed Natalie as it was easier to pronounce. My family nicknamed me Nata and Nati so I had different versions of it. I finally grew into my name as an adult. Having this name requires no middle name as it is very strong. I've been complimented on it many times. People have said it sounds exotic to sophisticated. I still use Natalie in the work place as it's a bit softer and I feel more approachable. (Like my name I consider myself to be bold and headstrong)
- Personal experiences with the name Nathalie
My best friend's name is Nathalie! People always spell her name without an "h" and it annoys her :)
My name is Nathalie, and as the spelling is not common, people normally forget the 'h' and then get confused when I try to help them. As I am named after my French Godmother, I like the history to my name and it is nice to have something a little different. Nat is also a great nickname.
