Rosaine Name Meaning & Origin
Rosaine
Origin of the name Rosalind:
Introduced to England by the Normans, Rosalind is of Germanic origin. It is a derivative of the Old High German Roslindis, a compound name composed of the elements hros (horse) and hrôs (fame) and lind (gentle, tender, soft). The name was introduced to Spain by the Goths, where it evolved to Rosalinda. Consequently, folk etymology now attributes the name as being derived from the Spanish elements rosa (rose) and linda (beautiful).
