My name is Shelly and I really enjoyed it growing up. I had an original name and took pride in not knowing any other Shelly's. I am sometimes referred to as Shell or Shell-bells but I would not say that they are nicknames if that makes sense.
I like the name Shelly. It's just a nice, all-around regular name. Also can be a nickname for Michelle.
