My mom is named Sarah but called Sissy because she was the baby sister for 3 older brothers. It's a fun nickname and she likes it when her family calls her 'Sissy,' but I think that in the professional world, the name kind of embarrasses her. She tries to go by Sarah at work, but it's hard because everyone knows her as Sissy, and it's what she's been called since she was a baby. She orders herself stationery that says "Sis" in an attempt to make her name sound cool and less babyish.
