A name that might cause difficulty for an American child, due to the similarity to the words "zits" and "ziti" (as in baked ziti).
- Personal experiences with the name Zita
My name is Zita. Sometime, I do get called Zits and I don't like it. I hate being called like that. It's not my name. I keep telling them, "IT'S ZITA, NOT ZITS". So, when people call me Zits, I ignore them. But having Zita as a name is not that bad. It's a beautiful name and kinda unique because only few people have that name, especially here in the Philippines.
My 2 year old is named Zita after the empress listed below and although it’s very unique we are very happy with our choice. No one has ever said Ziti or Zits to her, we get “Sita” more often. Sometimes we get “the look” but once we tell them it’s an old Italian name they understand we didn’t make it up
