- Comments and insights on the name Zora
Apparently there's a myth about the Zorya, who are the two guardian goddesses known as the Auroras. Alternate spellings, according to Wikipedia and my Russian-Albanian neighbors, include Zora, Zarya, Zory, and Zore.
The stars guard and watch over the doomsday hound, Simargl, who is chained to the star Polaris in the constellation Ursa Minor, the "little bear". If the chain ever breaks, the hound will devour the constellation and the universe will end. The Zorya represent the Morning Star and Evening Star.
Roza and Zora are anagrams of each other; they contain the same letters.

My cousin's name is Zora. She's a bit crazy and zany, so it fits her perfectly. She finds that people remember her easily for her name, and none of us have ever met another Zora. :)
