Aurelia Althea, Lyra Anastasia

We've got 5 weeks to go.

Aurelia Scholze - nn Aurelie, Thea

Aurelia Althea Lucero Scholze

#1 name, #3 name, His last, My last

Lyra Scholze

Lyra Anastasia Scholze

#2 name, perfect middle, My last

I LOVE Aurelia Scholze, but wish I could use both Althea and Lyra as middles. Everyone I know is hoping I name the baby Lyra, but Lyra Scholze doesn't have the flow of Aurelia Scholze.

Does these work?

Aurelia Lyra Lucero Scholze

Lyra Aurelia Lucero Scholze

Lyra Aurelia Althea Scholze

Aurelia Athea Lorelei (nn- Lyra or Lore) Scholze

I was given 6 names total by my mother, so I'm okay with a long name so long as it flows nicely. It's a shame all my fave names end in A.

I'm tempted to just name her Aurelia Althea Lucero Scholze and nn her Lyra if it suits her later in life.

I think Lyra kind of works as a nickname for Aurelia.

I must admit I do prefer Lyra over Aurelia.

Why can't you name her Aurelia and use both Lyra & Althea as middles?  It might not be ideal to have all the names ending in A, but it isn't the end of the world either.  However, one word of caution-if you plan on having more children later, you might find that you regret using all your favorites in one go.

Personally, I'm not crazy about Lyra as a nickname for Aurelia.  Maybe something like Aurelia Lyra Anastasia? Anastasia is so much longer, I think it changes the rythm enough that the repeated A endings aren't as obvious. Aurelia Lorelai Lyra also helps since there is a non-A ending in between.

I actually prefer Aurelia Lyra Lucero to Aurelia Althea Lucero. Aurelia and Althea have too many similarities for me to be used in combo—both start with A, end with ee-uh, and multisyllabic, plus there's the repeated l sound as well, and I find my tongue trips over the transition between them. Lyra provides a little more contrast, both aurally and visually, and Aurelia Lyra is just easier to say. Yes, you then get the alliteration with Lucero, but I actually like that alliteration—Lyra Lucero sounds both melodic and punchy at the same time.

I think Aurelia Lyra Althea flows very nicely and is better than using Lorelei instead. If you want to keep the limit to 4, Aurelia Lyra Lucero Scholze is my favorite. If you want to use Anastasia over Althea, Aurelia Lyra Anastasia also sounds fine.

I love Lyra, and I think Lyra Lucero Scholze has a nice flow and would work with any of the middle names you are considering.

Hey, you made the Name Lady column!

Did the answer help at all?

I agree with the name lady about the middle names, unless this will be your only child.

The name that sounds the most melodious to me is Lyra Anastasia Sholze. I also think Lyra Anastasia Lucero Sholze works well and is very pretty. In this case I like the repetition of the A ending, which I think works because of the short two-syllable Lyra followed by the dramatic five-syllable flourish of Anastasia. Lyra Sholze is short and sweet and would make a good grown-up name too. Lyra leavens, if you will, the density of Sholze.

Given that the father is French (am I remembering that correctly?), have you considered using Aurelie instead of Aurelia? Aurelie Lyra Scholze sounds better imo than Aurelia Lyra Sholze, and Aurelie Anastasia Sholze is very pretty, or even Aurelie Anastasia Lucero Sholze. I also think Aurelie is lighter and sweeter with Sholze.

You have previously said Aurelia has been your favourite name for years - would you regret it if you chose another name instead, or is it a name that works better for you in theory than practice? I personally love it, and would keep looking at middle names until I found one that worked.

i have difficulty getting my brain and tongue around Aurelia Althea LS, and prefer Aurelia Lyra LS. However, Aurelia and Lyra make a beautiful sibset, so I guess you would need to consider your own situation and make that decision for yourself.

Lyra Anastasia is a wonderful option - really well balanced and beautiful. I just wonder how you would feel about leaving Aurelia on the table?
