Baby girl name ideas please!

Hello again name wizards!

We've only got a few months before baby girl arrives and now I'm wavering on names! When we found out this baby was a girl, DH and I had our list narrowed down to 3 names (Alice, Eliza, and Violet) and I was happy with all of them. Now that we're approaching the wire I'm questioning things and want to make sure I'm not missing "the right" name. DH has officially vetoed Violet and he's become less enthused about Eliza (even though that was his front runner for a girl when I was pregnant with our son). DH is pretty sold on Alice and I do love that name. There are just so many gorgeous options out there that I'm still looking for new suggestions and inspiration.

Our son is Leo Alexander and other names we like but have ruled out for other reasons (used by other family, popularity in our area, etc) are: Nora, Ava, Audrey, Juliet, Scarlett, Isla, Evelyn, Lydia, Amelia, Cora, Madeline, and Clara.

I've also suggested Naomi, Tessa, and Eva but DH wavers on those depending on his mood. Thoughts on those names? Reactions to Alice?

We tend to like vintage-y names and neither of us are big on cutsie nicknames. Any new suggestions? THANK YOU!

Alice is lovely (as are many of the other names on your list, both vetoed and in the running).  You might just be overthinking it as the time gets closer. :)  Consider taking a break from names if you've been obsessing over it.  Try to trust that one of your long-loved names will feel right once it has become attached to your little girl.  And don't be afraid to bring a short list to the hospital to decide later.  Nothing needs to be monogrammed right now!  You can meet her, try them out, even take a few days to decide.  Laura also has a "narrowing up" strategy that consists of making a "pros" list for every name - but not "cons".  Examine what it is you like about each name and see how they compare against each other.  ...At least, I think that's her process - I'm sure it's explained further elsewhere on this site!

Thank you! Deciding between names for my son was so easy so I’m sure I’m over thinking this one like you said! I have definitely been obsessing and I like the idea of taking a break (if I can!) and doing the pros list! I also really like Margot from your suggestions so that might end up on the list:)

Having a similar dilemma for daughter no 3. We have two girls and one is Alice so I love it but I’m biased!! Our other daughter is Edie. Also suggest Eloise or Louisa as similar vibes to Alice for you. Never regretted our name choice anyway. Best of luck!

So DH and I have been back and forth with names for a few weeks now and Alice is still the front runner. We've officially dropped Eliza because it just doesn't seem like "the right" name and DH has vetoed Eva and Naomi.  We also went through many of your suggestions and there are a few I'm going to readdress with DH after he's had a name discussion "break"! The only other name that is now consistently competing with Alice is Tessa.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and impressions on Alice vs. Tessa - our last name starts with a "D" and rhymes with tin. Older brother is Leo Alexander. And a few ideas for middle names are Quinn (front runner), Juliet, Maeve, and Claire. Thank you!

Alice and Tessa are both great. I think Tessa is fresher and goes better with Leo.  Re middles I don't think Quinn works with your surname. I think Juliet flows best with either first name and surname, but Maeve and Claire are lovely too
