Back again! Due on Sunday...

We have been "testing" the name Valentina. Saying it out loud, refering to her by the name, and we've fallen even more in love with it! :)

My husband likes to use the nickname Vivi and I have found myself just using " Baby V"

The opinions of my Mum are becoming less and less important, and I feel like we are 99% certain that this is her name. We will wait and see her to make the final decision, but yeah, I think our daughter has a name! Thank you so much to everyone that has responded to my posts, offered advice and reassurances.

The issue now is the middle name...

I need ideas, please!!!

Obviously something that flows nicely, preferably feminine, not *too* common (Rose, Grace, Marie etc)

Only a few days til due date and I'd love to have a shortlist of middles before then if possible.

Thanks in advance :)

I really liked someone's suggestion of "Elise" before. I also love the thought of Elisenda, kind of my name crush du jour, but it would be pretty frilly with Valentina. Elisabet? Marianne? Rosalie?

I realize I'm just playing off typical middle names Rose and Marie there. :)

Or to play off classic middle name Anne, how about Annette?

I also love the suggestion of Lou below.

I love Elise with Valentina, but it sounds awkward with our surname. Too many S sounds.

If you live in the US, a middle name is not actually required.

These are sets of similar names that aren't too common but aren't unheard of either:

Valentina Rae/Kay/Faye/Shea etc (is Mae too common?)

Valentina Leanne/Leanna/Lianna etc

Valentina Arielle/Gabrielle/Joelle/Danielle etc

Valentina Lou/Lily/Lila/Lola etc

Other ideas:

Valentina Hailey

Valentina Caitlin

Valentina Ivy

Valentina Lacey

Valentina Quinn

Valentina Jasmine

Valentina Emily

Did you rule out Eve? I think that was a frontrunner before, and I think it's very pretty.

Is there a name you could use that would make your mom happy? Maybe a place name or name that is significant to her, if not some part of her actual name?

Otherwise, I would still root for short and soft in the mn spot with Valentina.

Lily, Mae, June, Brook/Brooke

Or you could do something else with international flair and really make a statement! How about Simone?

I like Eve, but it doesn't blow me away.

I think the middle name is a great place for an honor name, or a way to incorporate something meaningful from your lives.  Is there a relative, mentor, literary figure, etc. you would want to honor?  Or perhaps there is a place, song, gemstone, color, nature name, etc. that has meaning for you?  I'd suggest starting there as opposed to just something that sounds good.

Since you did like Eve, you might also want to consider Eve (or something related like Evangeline) or other names from your list that didn't quite make the cut as a first name.
