Boy Name

What do you think about the name Destino for a boy's first name?

Or as Levi Destino as a middle name?

Destino sounds a little strange to my ears as a first name, but I think people would get used to it quickly enough.

To me, it sounds like one of those brand-name mash-ups to tell you what's NOT in something - Glutino, Allergino, etc.  I know that many boys names end in 'o', but since this isn't an established name, it doesn't work for me.  If you're determined to use it, I'd put it in the middle-name spot.

Would you consider Destin?  Levi Destin or Destin Levi.

I like it. I would assume it means destiny in some Romance language, and I like that somewhat romantic feel (pun intended, sorry). I think it has great nickname options, too, with Des/Dez and Tino.

Levi Destino sounds very cowboy to me, which may or may not be what you're going for. I also like it, though it has a pretty different feel to me from Destino as a first name.

To be honest, I don't love the name Destino. It sounds like a magician: "The Great Destino!", or as a previous poster mentioned, a product line. It also reminds me of the baby butt rash cream Desitin. If it's a family name or has some other kind of importance to you, using it in the middle for Levi Destino sounds fine.

I don't care for it.  It does make me think of Desitin ointment.  It'd be OK in the middle position, but I still don't care for it much.  Do you mind sharing what you like about it?  Is it the sound?  Or are you trying for a male virtue name, a version of Destiny perhaps?

If it's the sound, I like the suggestion of Dustin.  Desmond?

If your attracted more to the meaning Destiny, perhaps Boniface (good fate)?

To me it sounds like Destiny in a Romance language, as a pp said, which is fine. Tino or Dino would work as a mn. Destin makes me think of Dustin, which is an AFL player, a chore, or a tool for collecting the pile of refuse left behind when sweeping.

It immediately makes me think of Destinos, the product used in thousands of high schools and college (and still running late nights on PBS) to teach introductory Spanish. But I'm a Spanish teacher, so there you have it.

I like Levi Destino.

Its not something I would pick out, but I don't think it sounds overtly weird, though it seems like a lot of people have associations with it that might not be what you want. If it has special meaning to you, its a family name or a name your really in love with, go for it, but otherwise you might want to try something else, using Destino as a middle name.
