Brother for Annika

Our daughter is Annika Vivian, and we are expecting a boy in April. Lansing is a family name we definitely want to use. We're debating: Miles Lansing, Dean Lansing, or perhaps Lansing as a first name?

I love Miles, but I'm concerned about its growing popularity. I like Dean a lot, although somewhat less than Miles, but I love that it's unique. Lansing... I don't care for as a first name, but still curious what you think. So... thoughts?   :)

In case it's helpful, I know a family that have an Annika and a Sam (Samuel)

I like Miles much more than the others, and I don't think you need to worry about popularity too much unless it ranks in the top 5 or so where you live. Dean is alright, just sort of meh for me. Lansing doesn't even sound like a name to me so I think it's best in the middle spot.

Miles and Annika make a sweet pair.

I agree Miles (unless its extremely popular in your area) would be the best choice

I also prefer Miles out of the three. I think Lansing could work as a first name if you were to use a nickname like Lance, but I like it better as a middle name.

I love the sound of Miles Lansing...very masculine! I agree with the above posts that as long as it is not in the top five most popular names for your area you shouldn't let that cloud your opinion of what really is a great name. As long as you love it and feel it will fit your little boy well than popularity shouldn't be your main concern. I am an Amanda and my two best friends in High School were also named Amanda. It was never a big deal, and was honestly really funny to all our friends, especially since it wasn't that common throughout the rest of the school. Just making the point that I still love my name despite the popularity and am glad that it is timeless! Miles is a wonderful boys name- I say go for it! :)

Dean is a really cool name.  Dean Lansing, I could really get behind.  My sister (one of them) has a daughter named Annika and her sons are Thatcher and Archer.  Thatcher and Annika are twins, so when I think of Annika, I automatically jump to Thatcher!
