You know you all have them-dreams where you remember a specific name used (whether it be on a baby or not). So post away any great combos that you have dreamt. I will start:

Robyn Sage-I don't remember the dream now at all but I do remember the name. It's funny because I don't really like the name Robyn and if I were to use the name Paige which I do like I would spell it with the I in it. But Sage seems better without the I.

Finna Faire. I remember being wrenched from sleep by a crying newborn while in the middle of a dream with that name, with the immediate thought that it was the most amazing name, and why hadn't I thought of it before? It took a good few minutes to come down from that mini-euphoria!

I looked it up back then -- I'd never heard of Finna or Faire -- but I don't remember what I found. It's certainly offbeat and not at all the style of name my husband and I would consider for our kids, but here five years later it remains for me the coolest name I ever dreamed.

While I do remember most of my dreams, I can't say there are many that I dream in which I dream about names. However, the only one that comes to mind is rather comical.

My husband and I do not have children yet and he is "convinced" that our first child shall be a boy, whenever we do have one. I guess we had just talked about that before I went to bed because I had a dream that we had 5 girls (which were not named, that I remember.. darnit!!) and were having our 6th child. When she was born, I surprised him and named her Mary Klaus (Klaus is my husband's name -- pronunciation rhymes with house) and we called her Mary Kay. And in my dream, Mary Kay was a little hellion, just like her dad, of course. I told him about that dream and he thought it was hilarious, but also said if we had 6 girls he'd run away as far as he could (kidding, of course!).

In the community where I work, I can think of three girls who are called "Mary ____ (insert father's name here)." I think it's kind of neat. Since the dream, it's actually grown on me. Who knows, maybe one day we will use it!

I had a vague memory that I had once dreamed about a baby named Bessica and that I'd posted about it on this site. So I used the search button and 25 minutes of happy reading later, came across this post dated May 20, 2008:

I forgot to say earlier that I had a very disturbing dream last night. I was the surrogate mother for twins (NOT gonna happen!) and the mother named them Bessica (?!) and Earlene. Yikes! Somehow the thought of having to go through a twin pregnancy for someone else and then to have her give the children those names was just too much. I woke up in a cold sweat. :),

Ha! How could I have forgotten Earlene to go with Bessica?! At any rate, that was a fun excursion into BNW history. We were discussing the use of honorifics in college classes. Eo and Patricia contributed a lot to the discussion, which made me miss both of them--they always had very insightful and respectful posts. We also speculated about the names of the Jolie-Pitt twins. I guessed Callantha and Colfax. The latter was a rather good guess, and I reserve it as a guess for future Jolie-Pitt boys.

I do not have any children. Yet I've had 6 dreams about the same 2 children, (Kira "K.J." and Bryce.)

Of course, I do love those names & would have liked to use the names for future children without the dreams.

When I have those dreams, I'm never told what the 'J' in 'K.J.' stands for, nor what Bryce's middle name is, but I have a pretty good idea of what the J name it is. (I have a couple of family members whose names start with "J," but there is one in particular who I think I would like to honour in the middle name spot.)

I'd considered the nickname "K.J." before for the possible daughter named Kira, but I never liked it until I had that first dream. Now it seems like the right nickname for her. (I think if I do have a daughter named Kira, her middle name will start with 'J' & I will call her K.J. -- whether this possible-futuristic daughter would want to continue to be called K.J. would be up to her.)

I also remember having a dream when I was very young about a group of wizards & witchs (children.) One of whom I beleive was named Alex.

January 5, 2013 2:49 AM

It's so funny because I just had a name dream a few days after Christmas. I dreamed that I had a baby girl named Twelvina, born on 12/12/12 of course.

A few days (or rather, nights,) ago, I had a dream that I was on a teachers' forum. (I don't know where that came from, as I'm not a teacher.)

Anyway, so the teachers were discussing what they would name their unborn children. They had all these unusual ideas. Most of them had different name options for twins or triples, & there were a lot of double-barrel names. (Sadly, all I can remember is one of the future-girls' double-barrel names had the initials "V-L"...)

I can't remember having dreams with names, but I remember I distinctly disconcerting dream where my child didn't have a name.

I was pregnant with our second and we didn't yet know the gender. We had just moved to Japan and our oldest girl was then 18 months. I dreamt we were looking for a home and we were touring a house that was pepto-bismal pink-everywhere. There were lots of sort of secret passageways and we had two little girls with us and they were running around this crazy house. When it was time to go, I could remember Eleanor's name, but whenever I tried to call for the second daughter, I couldn't think of her name and it was making me incredibly frantic! I woke up all anxious and scared that I had lost my daughter and that I was losing my mind because I couldn't remember her name!

Funny thing, we did end up having second girl, and named her Clara. Thankfully, we will never live in an all pink house with little passageways.

Last night, I had a dream where I saw a long piece of paper with "variants" of the name Noah in "different languages." I say, "Different languages", because those languages don't exist.

Some of the variants I remember are:

But the list was MUCH longer than that. If only I remembered more "variants."

I actually kind of like Koah.

Last night, I had a dream where I saw students' acceptance profiles for a high-quality (expensive & posh) school, which was apparently called "The Dragon School" (I don't know where that name came from; I've never heard of it before & I doubt it really exists.)

I saw 2 acceptance profiles:

One with a picture of a teenage boy, who's name was Draghen (pronounced like "dragon.") I didn't even noticed in the dream that his name also spelled drag & hen... how did my mind come up with that, I'll never know...

The other one was a picture of a young, preteen girl, named "Emily."

Very weird dream, but I actually think Draghen is kinda cool (or maybe I just think it's cool I came up with it in my sleep?) But maybe spelled Draghon, or Draghyn. I like the "h" in it. Or maybe something like Draeghon instead? ("Drayg-in")

April 25, 2013 5:05 PM

There's a Dragon School in Oxford (UK) that matches your description - could that have entered your subconscious somehow?

It would be quite cool to go to a school with the same name as you...though I must admit my first thought about Draghen was "a hen in drag".

April 27, 2013 7:11 AM

Maybe! I didn't know about that, but maybe...

April 27, 2013 7:19 AM

Last night, I had ANOTHER dream involving names!

This time I was playing Sims in the dream, & I had this weird family.

There were 3 boys, & one on the way (but unnamed) partway through the dream.

Anyway, the oldest boy, I can't remember his name. I think it started with "Ki" though, & was 2-3 syllables... (pronounced like "Kai")... hmmm... I could have sworn it sounded real! ;)

The middle boy, I can't remember his full name either! But his nn was "Micah", & his name had 3 syllables, I think, maybe 4... I swear, that name sounded real too!!

The youngest, I CAN remember his name!! The youngest's name was Luca. & I know that's a real name. :)

If anyone has any idea what #2's full name was, & any idea about #1's name...

BBNW was almost no help... (but hey, maybe Micah's full name was Michaiah. It matched the criteria fine... but still isn't "right" to my ears.)

May 5, 2013 10:59 AM

A few nights ago, I had a dream that there was a "lost" Duggar kid, who was disowned.

She was in her early 20s.

Her name was "Jemma" nn "Journey" (not sure how Journey is anything like Jemma.)

& she was doing a documentry about her life as a disowned Duggar. ;)

May 5, 2013 8:54 PM

Oh dear! A documentary about being a disowned Duggar. Sounds like she'd have to give all her kids 'D' names!

May 7, 2013 2:39 PM

Last night I had 2 seperate dreams about 2 seperate pairs of twins. Both pairs are fictional.

The first pair of twins were 2 little boys named William & Spencer. In the dream, Spencer was always in William's shadow.

The second pair of twins were 2 teenage girls named Christian & Adrian (?!) Are those even girls' names?

May 7, 2013 2:53 PM

Don't you remember Rocky? "Yo, Adrian!"  It's almost as famous as "Stella!"

September 21, 2014 10:20 AM

Christian was originally a girl's name in the Middle Ages. But not so much now...

May 11, 2013 9:53 AM

Last night, I had a dream about 2 fictional kids (there were more actully, but only 2 were named):

The boy was Conner (not Connor; I saw it written down)

The girl's name started with an "A" (I think) but I don't remember it. (Maybe it wa Alycia? I think it had 3 syllables)

June 8, 2013 10:23 AM

Last night, I had a dream about 2 young kids, "Quinn" Quinlan & Caitlin, & their university-aged sister, Meaghan.

Meaghan was definately subconciously from Laura's recent blog post, & Caitlin was in the comments of that blog post so I probably got Caitlin from there too.

"Quinn" Quinlan has no precedent that I'm aware of.

They were fictional people.

November 22, 2013 5:09 PM

Well I always quite liked the name Luca (If I used it he would be Lucas Alexander - which does have meaning to me).

But I never really loved it until I had a dream involving two little boys who, in my dream, were my sons.

A little brown haired boy, Theo and a lovely little baby, Luca. I don't remember much about the dream. Just that involved these two little boys and a big house. I woke up adoring the name Luca and also like Theo..

April 30, 2014 2:52 AM

A while back I had a dream that I had an adorable red-haired baby girl and her name was Vivian. I dont remember her middle name though. I was very attached to her in my dream and I remember being really sad when I awoke because i didn't have her. :( Oh well, maybe in the future!

September 20, 2014 8:06 PM

Last night, I had a dream where some teen mom had a daughter, who she named Charlotte Auden (or something like Auden).

I also had a seperate dream in the same night, where there was a woman named Annie, who had a first-grade son named Cooper.

September 29, 2014 9:47 PM

I have dreams all the time and the names of the random people are so strange. One of my favorites is Siya.

I have dreamed of what the names of my future children would be and what they would be like. I have a thing for the

letter "Y". Ymir, Yvan, and Yuri. i find those names so random, but I love them.

Resurrecting this thread to report on an odd dream I had last night. In the dream, I was flirting with a very attractive man in a bar (something I haven't done in real life since meeting my husband nearly ten years ago). He told me his name was Juliain (pronounced joo-lee-AYN--I didn't get the actual spelling in the dream). Not sure where my subconscious came up with that. Even in the dream, I had a moment of "Wait, did I hear that right?"

Then I left the bar and ran into my husband, and remembered, "Oh sh*t, I'm married." I was still trying to decide what to do about the coffee date I'd planned with Juliain when I woke up. Thanks a lot, subconscious--way to inject guilt into what had been a very fun and pleasant dream. (Juliain looked just like Doc Roe from Band of Brothers, which my husband and I watched fairly recently. So at least I know where the guy came from, if not the name. Man, I really wanted to go on that coffee date).

I woke up thinking about this thread, EVie! My dream had me returning to college only to find that my new dorm room looked like a cheap hotel room on the Vegas strip complete with peach velour bedding and salmon-colored curtains. The kicker was that I had a new roommate named Blenise. Maybe she's off on that coffee date with Juliain.
