First child, first name war

My name is Ashley and my boyfriend Austin and I are expecting our baby girl in March 2016.

At first I picked out the name Addisyn Grace with the help of some coworkers. Now my boyfriend is saying he really doesn't like that name which is completely fine because I'm open to other options. So we've come up with Alliyah, Amiya,Alexis...but I just can't seem to pick and don't even get me started on middle names..I don't know where to begin with those.

We want to keep the A names going so please if you have any suggestions or ideas feel free to share.

First of all, congrats!

For me personally, I prefer names that have a more obvious spelling and pronunciation. Names like Alliyah have many different spellings and it could be frustrating for your daughter to constantly have to spell her full name or have it misspelled. Names like Amiya will face the same problem and also leave the pronunciation open to interpretation. Ah-MEE-yah vs Ah-MY-yah? If this doesn't bother you, don't let my comment discourage you. It's just something to consider when weighing your options.

I think Alexis is a beautiful choice. Some other A names to consider: Aria, Avery, Audra, Avalon, Audrina, Ariana.

For middle names do either of you have a family member you'd like to honor? If you don't love the person's name you could always choose something with the same first letter to help narrow your choices. You could also give your baby one of your last names as a middle name. Or you already indicated you like Grace as a middle name. That sounds lovely with many names.

Alexis is the one from your list I like best. Some of my other favorite A names are: Annabeth, Annabel, Alexandra, Abigail, Anna, Aurora, and Aria.

Good Luck with your search. Find a first name you love first and the middle is a lot easier.

I like Alexis best of your suggestions.

If you want another Ad- name, there's Adeline, Adele, or Adelaide. Other A names: Amalia, Angelica, Autumn, Audrey
