Help with DD #2 name

I have two kids currently and we are expecting our third in september. This will be our second daughter. My other kids are Nolan and Scarlett. I am considering Vivien, Ivy, and Violet. I am not big on nicknames at all and I do understand that if I chose Vivien she would prob be called Vivi. I love Violet but im afraid its too matchy matchy and people will realize that two of my kids are also colors which is not the reason behind choosing those names. Help please!!!

Thank you!!

No Vivien I have ever known was called Vivi, so she probably wouldn't be called that unless introduced as such.

Vivien Leigh played Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. I think sisters Vivien and Scarlett will have some people thinking you are a fan of the movie.

I do like Violet best and that they are both colors does not bother me, since I still think of the flower first.

If you don't want any connection between the names than Ivy would be the best choice, and is a lovely name.

I agree with this exactly.

I remember a while back commenting the same thing about the Vivien Leigh thing. So it must be that people who like the name Scarlett also like the name Vivien!

If you don't mind anyone who notices movie connection, I don't think it is terrible.

Again, my opinion is the same as mk.

Good luck!

The Vivi(a/e)n(ne)s I know DO go by Vivi, so I think it may very much depend on the nicknaming permissiveness of your immediate cultural environment.

My sons have a similar situation with the character/actor names for a particular film adaptation -- and we actually did first discuss the names in the same evening when we were watching said adaptation. "I think [character name] is the best name ever!" "Nah, it's kind of strange... but hey, you know what is a good name? [actor name]!" "Huh... not sure it feels like my child, but I'll think about it!" And then we used them both, many years later. It's a less well-known movie than GwtW, so exactly ONE person ever pointed it out to us, but still, I don't think it has to be a dealbreaker. I'd just be prepared to have the occasional conversation about it.

I think Vivien or Ivy would probably be best.  Violet seems too matchy, as it is not only a color, it also ends in "LET", just like Scarlett.  I would find that confusing!

I think Ivy makes a perfect sib set!  Vivien to me doesn't go with the vibe of the other two, and I just wouldn't do two color names.

I'd go for Ivy. Definiely no nicknames and it's a beautiful name.
