Help With Quads!

So me and my husband are expecting quad girls!! Were a little bit stuck on the names though. We dont really know where to start so could we please have help! We dont mind if the names dont sound like siblings or theres no pattern we just want each name to be unique and beautiful. At the moment on our list we have Brooklyn, Jayda, Lucy and Temperance(yes off bones lol) we have definitely decided on Brooklyn and Temperance so please dont try to change our minds but we do need middle names for these two. Other names we still need including middle names. Please help!

As far as Brooklyn, Jayda, Lucy & Temperance, you are a bit all over the map style-wise!  I'd group Brooklyn & Jayda togehter as trendy names with more modern usage.  Lucy & Temperance seem more vintage, with Temperance leaning more fusty/not quite ready for a comeback.  I wonder if one parent leans more towards the Brooklyn/Jayda style of names, and the other leans more in the Lucy/Temperance direction?  If so, having 2 of each style seems like a nice compromise.

Can you give us any more information about what you like about each name?  Temperance seems to have a pop culture association, what about the others?  Are there certain sounds you seem more drawn to?  The more information you can give us, the better our suggestions will be.  With nothing else to go on, I'd suggest names like Bailey, Lyric, Harper, McKenzie/Kenzie, Peyton, Madison to match the more modern style of Brooklyn & Jayda.  Names of a more vintage style include Lillian, Hazel, Charlotte, Felicity, Ruby, June, and Molly.

I prefer for middle names to have some kind of meaning or significance to the family.  Are there any family members you want to honor?  What about places or nature names that hold special meaning?  Other sources of inspiration include literary or historical figures you admire, names with religious meaning, or virtue names associated with your values.

Thanks for your suggestions. We want to use Rose and Catherine somewhere in the names just unsure of where, as of now it is looking like temperance rose.

Theres not really any sounding names we are leaning towards but we really like 2 syllable names. We have added Madison to the list and Ruby as a middle name.

November 17, 2017 4:56 PM

Brooklyn, Jayda, Lucy and Temperance - I'd probably stick with 2 syllable first and maybe you want all four with longer names or you could have 2 long two short, one to match Temperance,  one to match Brooklyn

Brooklyn Claire, Rose, Renee, Nicole, Mae, Grace, Faith, Paige, Alice, Anne, Elise, Jade,

Temperance  Jean, Claire, Paige, Mae, Maeve, Kate, Rose, Chelsea, Renee, Nicole, Maree, Michelle

Thankyou for your suggestions, we hve added Estelle to the list its beautiful!

November 18, 2017 1:48 PM

You may be interested to know that just last week we had a poster chosing the names Temperence, Lani and Jade for their triplets... I would have thought those names are very eclectic, but much to my surprise, purportedly different people think those unusual names and sounds make natural groupings for their higher order multiples.

Amazing coincidence, but if next week anyone is tempted to elaborate on the fun with a quintuplet (or more!) addition, I advise moving to the Name Games board for purely fanciful constructing of sibling groups, where no one will become annoyed that the children under discussion are figments of the imagination.

November 18, 2017 7:12 PM

In the meantime I am contemplating triplet girl names for the chickens we will get in spring. Casterdella, Dineen and...???

November 18, 2017 9:05 PM

Wow thats anazing. Ever since the tv show bones aired i had always loved the name Temperance and hoped to use it for my daughter one day. Little did we know we were having 4. My other half loves the name too so im happy lol. Were thinkibg of jade/jaide for a middle name for Brooklyn and Lani is out of the picture for us (its my sisters name).

Congratulations!! Those names are beautiful, please keep me updated on what the other name will be.

November 19, 2017 8:19 PM

Spontaneous quadruplets! What are the chances? (Apparently, 1 in more than 700,000!)

And due on Christmas day -- how amazing!! (If that's a c-section date at 32 weeks, it's amazing that your OBs are scheduling it for a holiday rather than the day after... but if that's the traditional due date of normal human pregnancy of 40 weeks, it's truly amazing that you've made it to 35 weeks gestation today, with quadruplets, where the target to pregnancy is usually 30-32 weeks.)

This entire thread is just filled with so many lucky coincidences that I'm sure you'll have no trouble whatsoever of finding the perfect names for all four daughters!

November 20, 2017 4:51 AM

The internet does seem full of a stunning number of multiples. It makes me feel quite freakish to gestate one at a time... until I look around me in the street... :-)

November 21, 2017 11:05 AM

As someone who has done it both ways, I can highly recommend one at a time for a less fraught pregnancy. There can be a sort of romanticization of multiples, but multiple pregnancies are much more difficult and dangerous, physically. My triplets' unadjusted due date was December 23, fifteen years ago, but we lost Baby B in June and I went into the hospital in early labor with the remaining two in August, so this thread and the recent spate of similar threads are bringing back all sorts of difficult memories.

My best wishes for a happy and healthy delivery to all the women out there who are pregnant with any number of babies.

November 23, 2017 4:50 PM

I had no idea that was the story. What a stressful and sad experience.

November 18, 2017 6:09 PM

My sister is pregnant with quads, and we are expexting them very soon!

She had hard time picking right names, but she made it. She named them Esme Belle, Julie Brianne, Sara Christine and Lizabeth Claire.

My advice is to be really sure what names YOU really like. You don't have to think what others think, because it's your child, aka children.

I can't really give you suggestions on names. But I can only say that I am not a fan of Temperance, but okay. Brooklyn is nice but don't like "city, country" names. I don't see connection between these two names.

You added Estelle on the list and it's a beautiful name with perfect meaning.

My twins are Luna Ivy Celeste and Skye Lynn Claire (that would be my ideas and suggestions, maybe you will like some of these names)

Other names: Lucia, Olivia, Mila, Mia, Emily, Scarlett, Alexa, Allison, (I really like Allison Jade), Savannah, Hailey.

Would like to hear an update, when  is the due date? Good luck! :)

November 18, 2017 9:00 PM

Olivia is out of the picture(its my first name). Lucia is a nice variation of Lucy, so we added this to the list. Not a big fan of Allison but we are thinking of using Jade as a middle name. other half doesnt like hailey or scarlett, but thanks for the help!

Dud date is December 25!!

November 18, 2017 9:10 PM

And we live in Australia, so names like brooklyn, paris, sydney etc are quite popular here.

November 18, 2017 9:08 PM

At the moment,

Brooklyn Jaide/Ruby

Temperance Rose/Faith

Estelle ______

Any suggestions on a middle name for Estelle? And which do you prefer of Brooklyn Jaide and Ruby and Temperance rose/faith?

November 18, 2017 10:18 PM

hi fellow Aussie,  I'm in Qld

Estelle Faith, Kate, Paige, Claire, Mae, Maeve, Pearl, Jean

Brooklyn Jade - (this spelling)

Temperance Rose

I think 2 syllable first name,  1 syllable middle

November 18, 2017 10:22 PM

Im in the west, and i agree us too are both leaning towards brooklyn jade(not sure on spelling though) and temperance rose.

We have put Estelle Paige Faith and May on the list, but we are still stuck on the 4th name.

November 18, 2017 10:53 PM

damn - I just had a list of other names and they didnt post,  grr - will try again later

November 18, 2017 11:21 PM

maybe have a name not ending in e

Ashlyn, Katelyn, Kayden, Jordyn, Jaydyn, Megan,Caryn, Quinlan, Kaedin, Kaylyn, Kaylin, Kirsten, Kristin, Lauren, Erin, Peyton, Ashleigh, Chelsea, Chantal, Ainsley, Kayla, Kayley, Hayley, Amber, Courtney, Krystal, Kayley, Cara, Gemma, Jenna, Quinley, Kira, Cara, Gemma, Jenna

other names -

Audrey, Mia, Leila, Ava, Scarlett, Ada, Astrid, Adele, Kinsley, Phaedra, Piper, Casey, Violet, Heather, Hazel, Laurel, Aubrey, April, Kelsey, Marley, Avril, Lisa, Yasmin, Zara

Candice, Celine, Charlotte, Giselle, Camille, Celine, Primrose, Sylvie, Nadine, Louise, Daphe, Phoebe, Justine, Roxanne, Odette, Monique, Charlotte, Kaylee, Cheyenne, Zoe, Jasmine, Renee, Nicole, Elise, Chloe, Charlize, Giselle,Celeste, Halle

November 18, 2017 11:30 PM

we cant use Elise, Chelsea, zara or Roxanne for several reasons, but we have added Camille, Quinn and Amber after looking at this, thankyou!

November 19, 2017 3:07 AM

I actually really like Quinn as a 4th first name here.

Every time I read Estelle my brain puts Marie after it.

What about Isidora for the 4th name? Isidora Elaine? That came out of thin air...

November 19, 2017 8:13 AM

Quinn has gone on the list as a first name, we both quite like it

November 19, 2017 6:18 AM

I would go with Brooklyn Jade (not Jaide, because I think middle names should finish with consonants), Temperance Faith, Estelle Rose (or I like Quinn for Estelle) :)

November 19, 2017 7:47 AM

I was really thinking about names for baby #4 :)

With these suggestions: Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Faith, Estelle Quinn, I would go with Cadence Layne. I think that conection between these names is amazing, and beautiful.

If you don't like these names, I think that for middle names you should use name ending on consonant sound, like Renee (René), Joy, Faith, Quinn, Layne, Rose, Ruth, Belle, Lynn, Jade, Mae, Jane, Diane, Brynn,

And for baby #4, use something that will fit this 3 first names and use something that will sound perfect and have connection between each other when you say all 4 first names at once. So: Cadence, Savannah, Frances, Juliette, Danielle, Corinne, Genevieve, Brielle, Blakely, Evelynn, Noelle.

I really hope this helps. Update me/us :)

November 19, 2017 8:14 AM

Frances is on the middle name list and evelyn on the first name list

November 19, 2017 8:19 AM

I like Evelyn Frances but Frances Evelyn is also cute :)

Beautiful names

November 19, 2017 8:24 AM

I wouldnt have an Evelyn and Estelle - they all need different initials

November 19, 2017 8:31 AM

Maybe she won't use Estelle, or maybe she is fine having 2 girls with same initials

November 19, 2017 8:45 AM

At the moment, we are leaning towards either quinn or lucy for the 4th :)

November 19, 2017 8:47 AM

I think a 2 syllable name  Quinlea/Quinley, Quinlan to match Brooklyn

November 19, 2017 9:09 AM

I agree with this :)

November 19, 2017 9:12 AM

What do you all think of...

Temperance Rose

Brooklyn Jade

Estelle May and

Lucy Faith

These arent set, but we are liking them

November 19, 2017 10:19 AM

I wouldn't use Rose for Temperance, but Faith because Temperance Rose is little tounge twisted.

Brooklyn Jade is perfect! I love it

Estelle May is nice, but why don't you go with Mae instead of May (month name).

I don't wanna be mean or something but Lucy is just out of point with other names. The reasons are, not only because it's very short name in comparing to other names, but because I don't see conection between them. :)

What happened with Frances and Evelyn? Those are perfect names for baby #4 and beautifu!

November 19, 2017 10:34 AM

Or, if you really want Lucy, you should include other variations of name. Like: Lucienne or Lucyanne, Lucia, Louise. :)

November 19, 2017 10:39 AM

Other half doesnt like frances. considered evelyn but thought about not have two E names. We were thinking of Lucinda or Lucia just a bit unsure. We would like to use rose somewhere in the names so was thinking maybe Lucia Rose?

November 19, 2017 10:50 AM

Okay, I would use these: Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Faith, Estelle Rose and Lucia Mae

Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Rose, Estelle Mae and Lucia Faith

Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Rose, Estelle Faith and Lucia Mae

or :)

Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Mae, Estelle Faith and Lucia Rose

November 19, 2017 10:52 AM

But, the best sounding for me has 1st and 2nd combinations. Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Faith, Estelle Rose and Lucia Mae. And/or Brooklyn Jade, Temperance Rose, Estelle Mae and Lucia Faith.

November 19, 2017 12:54 PM

Have you decided yet? :)

November 19, 2017 4:05 PM

I think Temperance Faith is wayyyy too much virtue for one name: how could anyone live up to such a combination?

And I have to say, the odd one out for me is definitely Brooklyn. I'm not in Australia, but the vibe I get from Estelle and Lucy is classy and classic, Temperence is unusual and quirky but ultimately sounds like it could fit with a Lucy/Estelle sibset in the 19th century... and then there's Brooklyn. Modern, trendy, referencing a place I assume you don't have much to do with, starting to sound a little dated already....

November 19, 2017 7:40 PM

What do you think of Jayda to go with Brooklyn? Or do you think Lucia? if none of these, any suggestions?

November 19, 2017 7:44 PM

we have also added teagan juniper and Ellie

November 19, 2017 1:41 PM

I like the top 3 combos,  Lucy Faith is lovely too,  but I think something more modern to match Brooklyn would be better

Ainsley, Amber,  Ashlea, Ashleigh, Ashlyn, Aspen, Courtney, Crystal, Krystal, Gracelyn, Hayley, Jayda, Jayley, Jazlyn, Jordyn, Kacey, Kayden, Kaycey, Marley, Miley, Peyton, Willow,  Katelyn, Kaylen, Kayley, Chantal, Gemma, Jenna, Jayden, Jaedyn, Jorja, Joslyn, Kaylen, Kaylin, Kaylyn, Karly, Kelsey, Megan, Shaelyn, Shaela, Shayla, Yasmin, Zara

November 19, 2017 7:45 PM

What do you think of Ellie? or teagan and juniper? (ellie is our favourite out of these)

November 20, 2017 1:52 AM

I wouldnt have a Ellie if you are using Estelle or Teagan with Temperance

sorry dont like Juniper

November 20, 2017 10:15 AM

Ellie is too short for this combination. Teagen is the other "T" name, but I like it. Personaly don't like Juniper.. reminds me of Jupiter. :)

November 19, 2017 7:47 PM

So as far as we are concerned, these names look as if theyre set in stone for us after much discussion.

Brooklyn Jade

Temperance Rose

Estelle Mae

but we are still working on the last one! thankyou all for the help and we will keep you updated

November 20, 2017 9:58 AM

Love Brooklyn Jade!

Temperance Rose is nice, little tounge twisted, but fine.

Estelle Mae is perfect!

Baby #4, what happened to Lucia? It's perfect name for these names, they all have conection between each other. Lucia Faith ( I think you should use "faith" somewhere, because that's all what you need when you have multiples. Faith.)

Lucia with meaning "light", Estelle with meaning "star", Temperance with clear meaning and Brooklyn with it's strenght is the best combination you could pick.

November 20, 2017 7:37 AM

Eek, Temperance made my heart skip a beat! Me and my family adore 'Bones' (Honestly mainly me - I may have forced my kids to watch it). Tempy is such an adorable nickname as well. Brooklyn is also strangely quite elegant. However Lucy is rather common and a little bit old fashioned - though that may be your style!

I would suggest maybe longer names to fit in with Temperance and Brooklyn. Such as; Liliana (shortened to Lily, Lila or Ana)

November 20, 2017 7:40 AM

Bones is amazing hey! Im thinking Lucia is nice or maybe Ruby were still thinking. We nearly chose Camille lol

November 20, 2017 9:58 AM

Love Brooklyn Jade!

Estelle Mae is perfect!

Baby #4, what happened to Lucia? It's perfect name for these names, they all have conection between each other. Lucia Faith ( I think you should use "faith" somewhere, because that's all what you need when you have multiples. Faith.)
