Looking for a boy's name ...

I am pregnant with Baby #2 and we are not finding out the sex.

My two-year-old is named August after three of his deceased grandparents whose names all started with "A." We want to continue that tradition, so the letters we are working with are J, R, B, or S.

For girls, we like Juniper or Rosemary, but we cannot agree on a single boy's name! The closest we have come is a maybe for Silas or Jasper.

We don't want anything too popular or something that is likely to become popular soon. We want it to be an identifiable name/word and not spelled irregularly or anything, but not a common name either. We like old-fashioned names, too.

Any ideas?

Well, maybe these shade toward "common" but I love them...

John (certainly popular in previous generations but hardly common now)
Jonathan (can go by Jon or Nathan)
Benjamin (okay, this is popular. But also "old-fashioned"!)
Samuel (ditto)

Less popular and also awesome...

Jonah
Josiah
Bennett
Reid
Simon
Jude
Martin
Joel

I wonder whether anything from Laura W's recent blog post on "overlooked timeless" names (http://www.babynamewizard.com/archives/2015/1/the-timeless-baby-names-youve-overlooked) has any appeal?

Benedict, Byron, Jay, Jefferson, Judson, Jules, Julius, Raphael, Reuben, Rocco, Simon, Solomon, Sterling

I particularly like Benedict as a brother to August. The only one I wouldn't recommend for you is Julius -- much as I like the Juli- names, that'd just be one too many months in a row. :-)

Ah, I do love August.  One of the (many) names I couldn't get Hubby on board with (alongside Silas, my absolute fave right now).  I'd have called him Gus.

I could really get behind Juniper.  For most of my pregnancy we were going to go with Sparrow, til he decided at about month 7 that he no longer liked it.  I think right now we're leaning towards Genevieve.  Other thoughts:

Judah, Josiah, Jaret, Julius, Jemima, Jordana, Jillian, Jadria

Ross, Ryker, Ryder, Reid, Rader, Rosalie, Rosalyn, Rosamund, Reina

Bastian, Brooks, Bailey, Benton, Burke, Baltasar, Britta, Bina, Blythe, Bianca

Simeon, Simon, Seth, Soren, Stella, Saraya, Selene, Stefania

Thanks for your great suggestions!

I do love Silas, Joel (though husband does not), and Jasper (too popular/getting too popular?). Benedict I'll have to think about ...

I would totally love Jude or Julius, but with my name being Julie and having an Aunt Judy, it's all too close. Same for Sterling - this is my middle name and the middle name all of my kids get (my sisters have it, too).
