Do you mean other thoughts for middles, firsts, or both?

For pairings with Ava and Lauren from your list I like:

Ava Christine, Ava Marie (although Marie tends to be sort of a "filler" middle name), Ava Danielle, Ava Elizabeth, and Ava Mae

Lauren Marie (see above comment about Ava Marie), Lauren Olivia (this 100% calls to mind Laurence Olivier to me, which may be a pro or con for you) Lauren Charlotte, and Lauren Elizabeth

Ava Marie is 100% Ave Maria in my mind, which is also either a pro or a con, depending on your perspective.

I would personally pair Ava with Charlotte.

Are any of the middle names meaningful or are they all just names you like? Because personal significance could really boost a name up the list.

Haha! I hadn't thought of Ave Maria, but now I can't "unsee" it! I think the difference in the pronunciation of the initial A separated it enough for me to not make the connection at first. I also know an Ava Marie, so I already have a person I associate it with.

Going purely on sound my choices would be Ava Danielle (runners up Ava Elizabeth or Ava Marie) and Lauren Olivia (runner up Lauren Mae), I like the idea of having a longer middle for the short name and vice versa. For the record I did not for a second think of Ave Maria or Laurence Olivier.

But I will agree if you have stories behind the middle choices that could change things as 'flow' with middle names is really not very important as the names will so rarely be said together, and is in any case very subjective.

The best middle names have some sort of significance. If all of the contenders are about equal on that front, then it's nice if there's some type of contrast between first and middle, such as in length or style.

Lauren Mae and Ava Olivia would be a subtly matched set, because the total number of letters is the same. (Playing around with the "matched total length" idea: Lauren Mia and Ava Terese?)

For style contrast, I like Ava Christine or Ava Danielle and Lauren Charlotte or Lauren Olivia. (The latter is a bit botanical, but not overly so, unless your surname also has some sort of botanical association.)

I like that Ava and Lauren have different sounds/feels, since I am not a fan of super matchy names for twins. I think it might be nice though to have the middle names with a similar feel to the opposite name... as in, I think of Ava as sort of fancier and more feminine, and Lauren as more down to earth. So maybe pairing Ava with a less feminine name and Lauren with a more feminine name would be a nice balance.

I personally like Lauren Olivia or Lauren Marie and Ava Christine or Ava Elizabeth. Although now that I say Lauren Olivia, it makes me think of Laurence Olivier. I don't know if that's a bad association. haha.

Are you intentionally going for a Hollywood glamour vibe? Ava and Lauren together put me in mind of Ava Gardner and Lauren Bacall (quick aside: If you google the two together, you will find a lot of articles saying that they hated each other, apparently because of Frank Sinatra). If that's intentional, Olivia and Reese double down on this theme.

Otherwise, I do think personal significance would be a better tie-breaker than "flow" which is very subjective.

I think an old Hollywood glamour theme should include Hedy, who in addition to being a starlet also was an inventor to whom we owe wifi. Super namesake!

Hedy Lamarr for those of you who want to have a good Google. (you should!)

I agree, if any have personal significance, choose those.

Assuming none do and all are just names you like. I like Ava with Charlotte or Christine and Lauren with Elizabeth or Mae.

I love the names Ava and Lauren.

I love the idea of linking the twins with their names in a subtle way.

A few combinations I love are...

Ava Marie and Lauren Mae - They both would share the M initial in the middle name spot but at the same time have their own initial for their first name.

Ava Christine and Lauren Charlotte - Same as above except with the C initial instead of M.

Ava Christine and Lauren Danielle - This is a more subtle way of linking them together, both Christine and Danielle are feminine forms of boy names so they work well together.

Ava Olivia and Lauren Mae - Gives each girl a six letter and three letter name.

Other combinations I just like are...

Ava Elizabeth and Lauren Charlotte - Works well the other way round as well.

There are endless combinations here that could all potentially work... I think just based on my own personal taste, I like Lauren Olivia and Ava Reese. I am not a huge fan of the names Christine or Danielle, as they just sound very 80's to me, but they both also flow well with both names. Marie and Elizabeth are both what I would consider (as noted above) "filler" middle names. I like Charlotte very much, but it is very popular (as is Ava). I am not a huge fan of Mae... Just too Beverly Hillbillies for my own personal taste.

Ava  Mae, Marie Christine

Lauren Marie, Christine, Olivia, Danielle, Elizabeth, Mae

Ava Mae and Laura Marie - that would be nice that had the same middle initial

My middle name is Christine so I love that choice. Both first names sound good to me with Christine as a middle name. I also love the name Elizabeth. Lauren Elizabeth has a nice ring to it. Ava Mae is my favorite combo from this list. Ava Grace would be my suggestion. Also what about their grandmothers' names as their middle names? If I have kids, I'd love to keep family in mind when choosing names. Congrats on the double blessing!! :)
