Name Feedback and Middle Name Ideas
We won't find out for about 3 more weeks whether we're having a boy or a girl, but I've mostly been thinking about girl names. I guess because I'm really hoping for a girl!
I have a couple of very strict name rules for girls: no names ending in "eeee" sounds (all "ie" and "y" names are out) and nothing which is spelled in an unusual or confusing way. I'm leaning toward more traditional names like:
Merle
Rosemary
Imogen
Merritt
Helena
But my favorite is "Geneva" because it's my great-grandmother's name and it goes really well with our last name. I'm having a lot of trouble finding a middle name to fit. I like "Anne" but that makes the initials terrible.
Any suggestions??

I like Rosemary with nn Romy or Rosie. Helena nd Imogen are #2. What bout Geneva in the middle,
You could go with Geneva Helen, Geneva Merle or Geneva Rose. Also, Violet, May, Claire, Shea, Pearl, and Lynn might be some alternatives for middle names.
I really like Geneva & think that some of the names on your current list could work (or be inspiration for) middle names. I love the suggestions of Geneva Helen and Geneva Rose.
Instead of Merle maybe something like Geneva Meredith or Geneva Miriam. Playing off Merle and Rosemary, you could also do Geneva Mary or Geneva Marie.
Instead of Geneva Anne maybe Geneva Nancy?
Geneva Louise, Geneva Caroline, Geneva Katherine, Geneva Kate, Geneva Clare
Not knowing the last name's syllables but I like Geneva Rosemary. I don't know if you're in the states or not but Merle is a man's name here - at least lately.
Merle Oberon--forgotten so soon....
I really like Geneva. My mom had a friend named Geneva and it always stuck out to me as being beautiful and sort of exotic. I think it has cute nickname options, too. I think if you like Merle the suggestion of Pearl as a middle name is great! That would be my pick!
I agree that Geneva is lovely. I would work on finding a middle name that you like with it, since it's your favorite. I second (third?) the suggestion of Geneva Pearl. Others:
Geneva Beryl, Geneva Ruth, Geneva Rue
I love Geneva! It's on my long list, but I don't think DH would go for it--if it's your favorite I think you should do it! I knew a Geneva in college, and always thought it was really neat. I think Merle would be good for a MN (I do tend to think of it as more of a male name, Ms. Oberon notwithstanding--Merle Haggard is a stronger reference for me). From your list, Rosemary and Imogen also sound good as middles to me. I also like the suggestions of Pearl, Ruth, and Louise, and I'll add Mae and June as 1 syllable ideas, Margaret, Marguerite, Eleanor, Eloise, Bernadette, or generally almost any French 2 syllable name would provide nice flow--something like Pascale, Delphine, Claudine, etc., would be preferable to me over the standard Marie.
