Names by birth order

I was thinking about how it was sometimes popular to name a child after their birth order, especially for higher-order babies, and began my own mental list of name possibilities. My list has a lot of the more obvious names, but I am curious if others can come up with more creative ways to link a name with birth order, and how high others can go... Here's a starter list

Una

Deuce

Trey

Quaid

Quint

Six (worked on Blossom)

Septima

Octavian

Cute idea-I can't really come up with good ideas though.

Switching letters and sounds around though I came up with these:

Wynona=Dakota language meaning one/first

Elizabetta=from beta the 2nd Greek letter

Teresa=from ter used for third like tertiary

Forsyth=beginning part says Four

Quintin=Quint means five

Seisia=created but sounds pretty to me (Say-see-uh like Spanish Seis with -ia)

Seven=the Beckham's used it so I guess it is cool

Octavia=obvious, Oct is eight

Nina=close to nine

Tennyson=Ten+son

I know I stretched some of the meanings but that is what I would do.

interesting idea!

These are bit more abstract/symbolic

Solo for 1? as in Han Solo or alt spelling of Una is Oona (like Oona Chaplain)

Gemini for 2?

Trinity for a 3rd child? very religious and Matrix-y

Cube for 6? (Ice Cube? lol)

That's all I can think of!

I heard of a couple that named their daughter Trinity because she made them complete as a family of three. I assume they weren't planning on having other children!

Interesting idea - and lots of imaginative answers!

You could some alphabetical naming, e.g.

Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta...

Aleph, Beth, Gimel, Daleth...

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta...

...though not all the letter names work so well as names. Hotel? X-ray?  Probably better to stop having children before you get that far!

Hilarious! I so call the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta set!

Actually, I could see all of those names working on little children today. Delta especially has a ring to it!

Aw, I did this before and came up with a great list, but I can't find it! If I do, I'll be sure to share it. :)

I was thinking of some more literal options for this theme - as in names that have the number's sound, or close to it.

1 - Wanda, Juan, Wonder, Onie

2 - Tula, Tune, Twolo

3 - Theresa, Guthree, Threeve

4 - Fordham, Forsee, Rutherford, Fourlen (or Fourlyn, depending on boy or girl ;)

5 - Fivel, Fivana

6 - Six, Essex, Sixton

7 - Seven, Severus, Sevenda

8 - Tate, Great, Eightra

9 - Nyna, Nina, Ninella

10 - Wooten, Tender, Tennessee, Tenley

I could see different sibsets breaking out from this list, like the literal inventions, the word names, etc.

Wanda, Tula, Guthree, Rutherford, Fivel, Essex, Severus, Tate, Nina, and Tennessee might work together.

Tate is interesting.

What is the connection between Tate and 8 ? (besides rhyme that is :)

Juan and Tula are great ideas.

I know a little boy who has the same name as his father and grandfather, making him the third. As a nickname, his family calls him Trigger. This could possibly work as a third child name, too.

Each name has some connection to the number it represents in the list:

Primrose

Katherine

Demetria

Clover

Quinn

June

Danica

Octavia

Willow

Decima

Hendeca

Mina

Love this list. Can you explain Katherine, Danica, Demetria and Willow? Pretty list.

1.- Eve ( first girl)

2. Twain for a boy (old measurement meaning 2)

3. Trinity

4. Delta or Ivy (iv)

5. Finn (used to be a five dollar bill)

6. Juno

7. Seven

8. Justice or Harmony ( they both are associated with symbology around the number 8)

9. Nina

10. Tennessee, Tennyson or Dex.

I could imagine Nickel or Dime for 5 or 10.  Peso or Euro for 1.  (I might skip Loon for 2 though!)
