Opinions on Seth?

I'm kind of loving Seth right now.  I like the simplicity and familiarity of it, though it doesn't fit into the 3-syllable first name/1 syllable-3 letter nickname thing we've got going on.  I don't know anyone named Seth, though I know there are a couple of popular actors named this (Rogen, Green, etc.).

We are NOT changing any baby names because I'm due in 2 days and I just can take that anymore, lol, but I am curious about others' opinions.  Is it TOO simple?

I love the name Seth. I love it's simplicity and biblical reference. I plan on having it as a middle name if I have a boy. I would have it as a first name but we prefer longer first names with nicknames too.

I like Seth. Like you I don't know any IRL, but I find Seth Green a very positive association.

I like Seth. I'm just curious about the question if you won't change it. ;-) Also my question would be for more specifics on what you mean by "3-syllable first name/1 syllable-3 letter nickname thing we've got going on"? How big a tradition are you "breaking" here? Is Seth Baby #2 or Baby #7? Adding the three-letter requirement on top of one syllable for the nick seems quite specific.

I really like Seth. We briefly considered it for our boys. We liked that it was short and simple but not a nickname or made up. It just never made it to the top of the list. A friend just had her 3rd son and named him Seth to go with Ethan and Noah, a sibset I love.

I love the name Seth, but I have to admit every time I hear it my brain goes to the Starkadder brothers from the novel "Cold Comfort Farm": Seth & Reuben

The boys' names are Atticus Michael "Ace" and Malakai Solomon "Kai".  The boy name we've picked out is Isaias "Ike" and while we have a list of middle name options to kick around once the baby arrives, Isaias Asher is the front runner thus far.  Of course the whole thing could be moot because we don't know if it's a boy or a girl so it may not even matter.  And I'm due tomorrow and it took a lot of ridiculousness to settle on Ike, which I just liked at first but have grown to truly LOVE---Ike goes great with Ace and Kai, and Isaias is totally a name we'd pick.  It's just not in me to throw another name in the mix with the end in spitting distance.  So unless Hubby came up to me and gave me Silas (my absolute fave) on a silver platter, Isaias nn Ike it is.  Unless it's Genevieve.  ;)

Love the name Seth, but it feels out of place with your boys' names. Maybe if you convince your hubby to go with Silas Asher you could use Seth as a nn? Even so, Ike seens a perfect fit for your set.
