People Who Change your Perception of Names

Have you ever had a certain opinion/impression of a name, before you knew anyone with that name.

But when you met an actual person with that name, your perception of the name changed. (Positively or negatively.)?

Happens all the time. Working as a substitute teacher. I see all sorts of names. I have had a few kids absolutely ruin names for me. After a day or two of saying. Stop it Mason, Go sit down Mason, quiet Mason, I was done with Mason :) It's gotten to the point that even certain types of names are ruined with me. I can't name kids anything ending with ius because I've had so many bad Tavius, Amarius, etc.

Absolutely. One that sticks out to me is a name I actually had not heard of before. I know a little girl named Elke and it suits her so sweetly! She's a talented, lovely girl and I've grown to like the name because of her. Of course after looking it up I now know the name has history behind it but I hadn't heard of it until I met her.

It's funny because I was just thinking about this. I recently met a little girl named Phyllis.

Before that, I would have considered Phyllis exclusively an old lady name, but now it seems

positively young and light and sweet.
