Sooo Indecisive

I'm due in 5 days and can't make up my mind which of these names I like better...I love them both!

Avery Sydney or Nicole Sydney

Current sibling names are Kyle, Evan & Naomi.  Which should I go with??

i would choose Avery, simply because it would give each kid his or her own letter, which will come in very handy for labeling.

I'm honestly neutral on these, so I've listed the pros/cons for you as I see them below.

If you truly love them equally, I'd probably go with Nicole, only because I don't think you'll meet another young Nicole. You could always see what she looks like, or have your other kiddos vote!

Avery-Cute, spunky name. Popular but well liked. Used to be a boys' name but seems girlish to me now. Gives each child his/her own initial.

On the trendy side-might seem dated some day. Seems like a different style than your other kids' names. A bit sing-songy with Sydney in the mn spot.

Nicole-Pretty, feminine name. Not used much on young girls these days, so you likely won't know others. Easy to say and spell. Fits really well with your boys' names. I like the flow with Sydney slightly better.

A little dated-I know quite a few moms named Nicole in their 30s/40s. It gives you two girls with N names (this could be a pro or a con). It fits really well with your boys' names but not quite as well with Naomi.  Nicky might be a hard nn to avoid.

I like the idea of each kid having their own letter, and personally my preference is Avery over Nicole.

However, Avery is not solidly a girls' name like Naomi is, so if you mention to someone that you have 4 kids, Kyle, Evan, Naomi, and Avery, they might assume you might three sons and one daughter.

I also like the idea of having four distinct initials, but in this case I think Avery and Evan may be a little too similar. Not only do they share a lot of sounds, but I think it's likely that you will run into some folks assuming that both are the same gender (whether they guess both male or both female may vary). For that reason I lean a little more toward Nicole for you. Have you considered Sydney for the first name?

I prefer Nicole Sydney.

I personally find Avery & Evan too close to use for siblings, though I admit to being tongue tied easily.  Another minor issue with Avery, though not a deal breaker, is that I don't care for the sound of Avery Sydney, it's a bit too sing-songy for me.

If you are open to suggestions, I'll offer Maeve as an alternative to Avery.  Has some of the same sounds as Avery, isn't too similiar to Evan & I think it flows better with the middle name.  Another alternative might be Audrey.

I second the suggestion of Audrey: it doesn't tangle with Evan, it's solidly feminine but not frilly like Naomi, and preserves some of the sound and feel of Avery. (Audrey Sydney is not ideal, perhaps, but it's no worse than Avery Sydney, and besides, I don't think middle name flow should be a consideration most of the time.)

I had thought Audrey-or even Aubrey as well.

Evan and Avery are quite distinct for me. I wonder if that's a regional thing.

Is Sydney out for a first name? If not I'd suggest Sydney as the first name and Nicole for the middle
