Suggestions for name list- British/German, Romantic/Literary/Medieval

My partner and I are looking for names that fit with our heritage (Scottish, English, Irish and German), and we also lean toward names with a natural, romantic, literary or Medieval vibe.

These are some combos we are considering:

Aveline Maeve

Iona Juliet

Mathilda Skye

Miranda Skye

Una Juliet

Wren Miranda

August Ulysses

Beckett Wolf

Edgar Augustine

I really like Miranda Skye and Iona Juliet. I prefer the spelling Oona over Una. All the nmaes for boys are good options too. My favorite is August Ulysses.

I have to say I love Aveline. I strongly prefer it to the currently more popular Evelyn. At first I wasn't sure about it with Maeve, but it's really growing on me. Might depend on the last name.

I don't love any of your other choices. Miranda seems really familiar at this point and it sounds like you want something fresher. The only name I really don't care for at all though is Wren Miranda-- the rhythm is off and Wren seems a bit slight to be a first name, imo.

Just realized I forgot to comment on your boy choices.

Edgar is a name I would've thought was stuck firmly in the past, but Edgar Augustine is sounds dignified and somehow current.

August I love, but not somehow with Ulysses. How about August Wolfgang? I like the repetition of the hard g, but is it too far out there?

Beckett is fine, and Beck is a cute potential short name, but somehow I think of David Beckham rather than Samuel Beckett, and I'm a reader/creative writer.

Meant to say above, Iona Skye sounds such a beautiful, natural combo, I feel like I know it from somewhere.

Perhaps you're thinking of the actress Ione Skye of Say Anything fame.
