Is this the first time you've been pregnant? If so, you probably haven't heard of Braxton-Hicks contractions yet. Once you start having them, it becomes very difficult to think of Braxton as a baby name.

Jared feels somehow smarmy or obnoxious to me. I think it's because of the chain of jewelry stores. There's nothing objectively wrong with the name, with its impeccable Biblical roots, but the 'slick salesman' association is hard to shake because it's so subliminal.

The rest of your choices are all excellent names. I think Raymond would be the most surprising on a baby. Killian is up-and-coming, while the rest are timeless classics: based on their names, you can't tell anything about the age of a Daniel or Vincent, and while a young Paul or George will likely have a very different experience of his name than his grandfather, neither would stand out from his peers.

Kilian I'm honestly pretty neutral, I don't dislike it but I'm als not super excited about the name.  However, it's consistent with current trends, so I think a little Kilian would fit well with a lot of his peers names.  Of your choices, Kilian and Braxton strike me as the most trendy.

George-I love it!  But I may be biased, as it's my youngest son's name.  One good thing about George is it's familiar-no problems with spelling or pronounciation, but it's not very common on little ones.

Vincent, I also really like this.  My guess is it'd be similar to George in that people will be familiar with it, without it being super common on younger kids.

Jared  Strikes me as perhaps slightly dated, but not exactly a "dad" name either.  I'm really pretty meh about this one.

Raymond, I'd group this more with George & Vincent.  I like it, but not as much as the other 2.

Braxton-100% braxton-hicks contractions.  Sorry.  Also has a lot of very trendy components, so I could see it getting lost in the sea of Jackson/Jaxon/Jaxson style names.

Paul is nice, I knew a ton growing up, but don't know of any little ones.  Probably more in the newer classic group, so I don't see it as dated in the way Jared is for me.

Daniel, see my comments about Paul.

Thanks a bunch :) I think I'm going to keep George, Paul, and Daniel on my list and nix the others.  Paul I'm not so sure about though.  It was my grandfather's middle name so I'd love to use it, but it's just not growing on me.  It's a nice enough name, but it lacks something.  May be a good middle name.  Daniel I've always liked, but that being said it bores me a little.  I don't think I could go wrong with it though.  George is great...  But I live in Georgia.  Is that weird?

I don't think it's too weird. How often would, "I'm George from Georgia" come up? Even putting his last name in the middle there would make it much less awkward. George really is a great name.

I'd suggest using Paul in the middle, but with "George Paul" I'd want to ask where John and Ringo are...

Kilian - don't like because it starts with "Kill".

George - in my top 5 - totally adore this name!

Vincent - in my top 10 - awesome name.

Jared - this name is okay, although I wouldn't use it myself.

Raymond - I can't think of this as a first name for some weird reason.

Braxton - never really liked this name.

Paul - Biblical name that is really cool.

Daniel - Biblical name that is okay.

My overall favourite is George.

Thanks, all.  I didn't even make the Beatles connection! ha!  I think we're adding Michael to the list.  Another plain name...  and can't very well use George Michael...  I'm going to have to think up some new names to consider.  I'm just not very inspired somehow.  Even the ones i like, i'm not excited about.  this is going to be a long 8 mos.

Don't lose heart! The fact that you like classic names with history means that you have lots and lots of great names to choose from, and 8 months means that there's no pressure and you can slowly let things work themselves out.

Heh. George Michael is a twofer... You'll get comments about the singer and about there being money in the banana stand ;)

I think this is an interesting mix of styles.

If they have a unifying theme I guess I'd call it, "All boy."

If you take out Killian, Braxton, and George, it's also a very classic grouping-I grew up with kids called Ray, Paul, Jared, and Dan in the 70s (lots of Dans and Dannys). I think any of them would be a fine and refreshing choice. Like a pp I'm not personally a fan of Jared, but not for any real reason.

I'm neutral on Braxton.

Killian is a name I like more now that I know one who is a fun kid.  The lack of good nns for this one is a stumbling block for me, but I'm a big nicknamer.

George is a current fav of mine. I love classics, and I think Geo is such a fun nn. I'd probably be stuck between George and Daniel for my top pick. Though I do know quite a lot of Dans in their 40s, I don't know any young ones, and I think it's a great name. I left George out of the grouping above because while it's obviously classic, I'd put it with the classic/vintage group. The only Georges I can think of besides the wee Prince are grandpa and great grandpa age.

As I said above, I do think Vincent, Paul, and Raymond are also fine choices. I have a slight preference for Paul. Vincent is very strongly Italian for me (not a bad thing-just my impression), and the ones I knew in school all went by Vince.

hth! Let us know when you're ready to talk girls' names-my fav!

Congratulations :)

What about Eric, Craig, Andrew, James, Nathan, or Henry?

Of the ones you listed my faves are George and Paul as well.

Kilian seems an outlier from the rest of your list and I can't get over the beer connection (Killian's?).
