Triplets That Don’t Sound Tacky

My husband and I are having triplets in the early summer (May/June)! We don’t know the gender, but we are very excited! We already have a son, Kingsley, who is 6. And I although we are slightly daunted at having three at once, we are very excited to expand our family.

But we are really struggling thinking of names, We wang to have a set of three boys names that we love and a set of three girl names that we love, because then no matter what the gender of the babies are, we can just mix and match. And although we have some names we like, we cant seem to find any that flow well togeather. So we need your help!!!

Just to give you some background, we love the show How I Met Your Mother And so we want to include that in some way? We also love California and maybe we could use that as well? My husbands her also recently passed away and we want to use her name as a middle name either way, but we are not sure what the male equivalent of Gracie is? We live in New Jersey and we want names that are easily recognised but arent really popular.

Lastly the names we like at the moment are, For Boys, Jenson, Evan, Barney, Oliver, Noah, Grayson, Robin. For Girls, Loralai, Lily, Allison, Kelsey, Kali, Mia, Petra, Harriet, Marriannà, Leah

Thanks

Just from your list, here's what I would do for girls--

Allison Mia

Harriet Kali

Lorelai Grace

Girls suggestions not on your list: Eleanor, Gwendolyn, Cicely, Isabel

Your boy list is harder for me, though I think Grayson would be a good way to honor Gracie. I like Noah, Evan, and Oliver from your list, though I don't think you'd want to use both Evan and Oliver as first names as they sound very similar. You could probably do one as a first and one as a middle for different children. For boys, I would also suggest Jasper, Hugo, Nathan. I was trying to think of a way to bring in How I Met Your Mother, and I actually think Neil, Patrick, and Harris or Harrison would all work, though definitely not together!

I like all the boys names except Barney,  I prefer Marrianna spelt with 1 r,  Harriet seems a bit older compared to the others.  Lots of nice names there

Lily, Patrick, Josh, Jason, Marshall, Robin, Ted/Theodore, Erik, Everett, Brooke, Lincoln, Avalon, Catalina, Harper, Leona, Rosamund, Victor, Calie, Hunter, Monica, Monty, Claire, Madison, Kensie, Soleil, Sierra, Carissa, Cole, Parker, Linden, Mason, Taylor, Davis, Marin, Judah, Addison, Camille, Charlotte, Chloe, Christian, Dawson, Evangeline, Lawson, Madden, Hendrix, Camden,

I think Grayson - is close to Grace for a male equivilent - others with a reference of Grace in the meaning Zain/Zayn, Kiaan, Gracian, Gratian, Esmond, Eastman, Chaniel, Armo

and for girls - Amara, Hannah

others close to the name Grace - Grady, Grant, Graden, Graham, Gray

I ADORE Grant!!! I think it sounds so grown up and nice! That is definatly going on our list! I also really like Patrick (another comment suggested this as well and I think it really represents our love of the show, without screaming it!) I like Addison but would it be used for a boy or a girl? I LOVE Calie. I think it is sort of a less obvious version of Kali! Thanks!

Yes Grant is a wonderful name. Patrick is a great tie to the show and more subtle. Callie would be lovely. Addison I think would be more of a girls name

Wow! Congratulations!

I love the idea of Grayson for a boy to honor a Gracie! Or you could just use the name Gracie for a girl. Here are some suggestions of three names that sound together, for each gender possibility.

GGG: Marianna, Harriett, and Grace

GGB: Allison, Leah, and Evan

GBB: Leah, Oliver, and Evan

BBB: Noah, Oliver, and Evan

BBG: Oliver, Grayson, and Lily

I noticed that you and your husband seem to like names of all different styles!

Here are some names that are a good balance of unique yet recognizable that also sound nice with Kingsley!

Cora, Charlotte, Stella, Scarlett, Willow, Wren, Genevieve

Beckett, Callum, Thomas, Hugo, Lincoln, Cooper

I really really like Cora, but maybe we could use Cory if it’s a boy? I also LOVE Willow, it sounds so pretty and etheral, I like your suggestion of Leah, Oliver And Evan. I hadn’t thought of using Grayson as the male of Gracie but it really works!

I now have two month old twin girls so thought maybe I could help with naming with multiple babies? This forum was SO brilliant when I was naming mine and I like really want to help one of y’all the way you helped me!!! I think the names Kelsey Jensen and Lily go really nicely togeather. But also maybe Camila or Xavier, which are names quite popular in California! And maybe about the show you could like use Theodore instead of Ted, for a subtler hint towards it? Hope this helps!

Combos:

Evan, Noah, Lily

Evan, Noah, Oliver

Harriet, Lorelai, Oliver

Harriet, Lily, Robin

Harriet, Lily, Petra

California themed names: there are so many Spanish names used for cities i.e. (San) Francisco, Diego, Jose, Mateo, Rosa, Barbara, Luis... I also like Callie/Cally.

I would probably not name a baby after a TV show.
