VERY belated announcement

I wanted to introduce - very belatedly (sorry, with a 2yr old and a now 4 month old my free time is pretty non existent) - Ursula Camille H F, who was born exactly on her due date - June 15th.  I've often thought about posting on here to let you all know about her arrival, but usually I was juggling three things and had an infant attached to me when the thought entered my mind.

After all of my angst, we're very happy with her name.  We don't even use a nickname for her, but all refer to her (even her brother Xavier does this) as "Baby Ursula".  Response to her name has been almost universally positive - people commenting about how elegant and beautiful it is.

Xavier's name is causing the only difficulties, actually.  I'm surprised by how difficult it is to get people to pronounce it Zay-vee-er, which was the only pronunciation that seemed logical to me.  Even after I say it, other people add the Ex sound.  Oh well.  Most of the time I don't even correct people anymore.  I'm not sure if I would've chosen another name if I had known pronunciation was going to be such a problem.  We had such a short boy's list, and it really suits him.

Thanks again for all the thoughtful comments.  It took us so long to get these two little rascals that my name-choosing time was rather protracted.  While I'm glad to finally have my little family, I've often missed this community.

Congratulations! Beautiful name for your little girl, and lovely as a sister to Xavier.

No need to stay away now that you have your family -- we'd still love to hear your thoughts if you want to pop in from time to time!

Congratulations! I was just wondering about you the other day and hoping that your absence meant nothing more than a busy schedule. I'm so glad you went with Ursula! It's a bold and beautiful choice (and I suppose since she's still a newborn that you could call her young and restless!). Please do stop by from time to time.

Oh, HOORAY! I'm so glad you used Ursula after all the years you wanted to, and you got to work Camille in there, too! Congratulations! Hope you come back from time to time--it's sad when longtime commenters drop off and we never know what happened to them (hyz? Karyn? Chimu?)

Congratulations!! I used to post a bit on here a while ago but the same craziness happened to me. I do recall you considering Ursula and I'm so glad you used the name!! It's a name very close to my heart as I work with Ursuline nuns. Congratulations on a healthy, beautifully named little lady!

Oh my goodness, I could not be happier to read this update! I always thought Ursula was the perfect name for Xavier's long-awaited younger sister, so I'm very thrilled that you did get to use it after all!

Please stop by sometime when your two well-named kids give you the opportunity to do so - we've missed your insights!
