We're having twins but can't pick names!!

My husband and i are having a hard time picking a name for our little ones.

We are having a boy and girl, twins!!

Here are the options, let me know what you think:

(last name pronunciation: Dew-AR-tay)

Boys: Troy Alexander Duarte

Dominic Princeton Duarte

Ethan Elias Duarte

Girls: Rhylinn McKinli Duarte

Vienna Eden Duarte

Brooklyn Elise Duarte

Carmen Alessandra Duarte

My favorite from your boy list is Ethan, though I'm not crazy about the alliteration with the middle name Elias.  I might try mixing it up a bit.  I really like Ethan Dominic, if you are open to moving Dominic to the middle position.

Most of your girls names are just NMS.  I like Carmen the best, but it does strike me as a bit dated.

So I keep thinking about this, and thinking that the names are a little all over the map, style-wise, especially on the girl side.  Rhylinn McKinli and Carmen Alessandra are almost from opposite sides of the spectrum.

You might have more luck deciding if you can decide what sort of name you want, rather than which of those particular choices you want.  Like, come at the issue a different way, I guess?

Do you want a modern name for your daughter? Then Rhylinn or Brooklyn should go high on the list.  Do you want something that goes with the origins of your surname?  Then Carmen should go high on the list.  Same with the boys -- figure out what style the name goes with, and decide how you feel about that style overall, then use that to help you pick.

Does that help at all? I know it's not opinions on the names themselves.

I love Dominic, but am not sure about nicknames. I knew a Dominic Jr who went by DJ. Dom? I don't care for it. Nic?

I also love Ethan, and don't think it begs for a nickname the same way.

Of your girls' names, I really like most of the middle name choices - Elise is one of my favorites, Alessandra is stunning, and Eden is lovely. I like those better than any of the first name options, honestly, and vote for promoting one of them. :-)  Of the first names, though, I'd choose Vienna. But I'm uncomfortable with the place name aspect (and Vienna Beef association) so I'd be more likely to choose the similar sounds of Vivienne, Evelyn, Violet, or Genevieve.

No idea why this one popped into my head, but something about your list suggests Galina, to me.

I prefer...

Brooklyn Elyse and Ethan Alexander

Good luck!
