In Response to Color names for boys

Well, if the baby is a girl, she is definite on Violet as the name. She likes the -let ending with both names. I've told her the suggestions (thank you everyone,) but they're not completely feeling any of them. I mentioned Wyatt in the sense it kind of sounds like white. It's just a battle for them at this point to find a name, but they still have time.

She really loves Sterling (that was the name her and I had chosen previously with much satisfaction,) but her DH shot it down surprisingly fast. Thank you for the suggestions so far, I'll let her know. I really like the Steel and Ashton suggestions!

She's not sure on one of the babies, but she has already chosen Violet if the baby is a girl.

In Response to Kathryn nickname

I'm also agreeing with what lucubratrix has said. When my nephew was born, he couldn't pronounce Ciarra. I've been called Chacha by my family since then. Those clearly have no correlation and I think it's perfectly fine. Kathryn nn Kara sounds great IMO.

I agree with AlaskaKate about Eva Helene and Violet Eve. Especially Violet Eve, very pretty.

As for the nn Em names, I'm not too fond of Emma Isobel. Emerson sounds too androgenuous for my liking as well. If you really want the Em nn though, Emery Grace would be a cute alternative. (Emerson and Emery also have the same name dirivitive.)

For me, I'm pronouncing Mya as (MY ah) then agree on Elise looking like a better visual spelling with the name. (Not my name, I just really like it.) I do love it with Mya.

Overall, if you changed Emerson to Emery, Emery Grace would have to be my favorite name. Followed by Violet Eve, Eva Helene, Mya Elise, and Emma Isobel. I hope this helps in some way, and good luck!

I also like Kessler a lot, but agree that it is very similiar to your husband's name. I think Karsten could be a good option if you still want the K name and haven't found one yet.

In Response to Not Candyland?

I think Saccharia could work because when I was little and didn't understand what a word meant I would ask my mom/teacher. Or just dictionary it myself.

I like the way Candigoria (or Candigorum) sounds. I also asked my mom what she thought and she said Candonia. She really likes the idea of Chocolavania with a Candy Wizard.

Good luck with your candy quest!

In Response to Not Candyland?

Can you give a little more description as to what kind of place? Is it a candy country, city, world?

I just came across this thread and found it very interesting because where I'm from I think most people are merged. I've talked to my best friend about this before, demonstrated words I believe are pronounced differently, and he told me they sound the same to him. If you know about the DFW area, what's the majority?

I'm not sure how you all might feel about Blake, but I did meet a female Blake once. As for the Addison (and Maddison) name, I've met men named that, but never any women.

I put Ruby because I thought the goal was to get back to the first name, is it not?
