Girl - Clara Jane
Boy & boy twins - Robert Daniel & Harrison Samuel nn Rob & Harry
Boy - Ira John
Boy & Girl twins - Joseph Alexander & Katherine Rosalie nn Joey & Kate
Boy - Sebastian Theodore nn Baz
Girl & girl twins - Charlotte Elise & Emilia Adeline (names of my actual twin girls) nn Charlie & Emmy
Girl - Georgia Louise nn Georgie
the only thing bothering me a bit is that Clara and Charlotte share their first initial while all the other children have got their own. so maybe i'd go with Alice Jane instead, although i adore the flow of Clara Jane
Thank you all on behalf of my sil.
She has a strong feeling it's a girl, but with her first she had a feeling it was a boy and the baby turned out to be a girl. Also they're not finding out the sex this time, so they need to have a boy and girl name for when the baby comes. She's still in the early stage of her pregnancy (fingers crossed all goes well!), but they've already started the whole naming process anyway.
Their top contender right now is Nova and she'd like your opinion on the name as a sister to Phoebe. Their other favourites right now are Willa an Gemma. Which one do you like best? They also like Zarah and Zanna(h), but as a stand-alone name, not a short form of Suzanna. James is definitely crossed off the list. They are considering Ivy as a middle
For a boy they're leaning towards Lincoln, Riley or Miles, but are open to new suggestions as well. Middle name for a boy would most likely be John (family name)
We have decided to go with Charlotte Elise nn Charlie and Emilia Adeline nn Emmy
Thank you all for your suggestions and input, it was very much appreciated and really helped us find the perfect names for our girls!
my thought exactly... I didn't quite know how to put it, but I think you described it well. That's why I'd definitely veto Sofie Sapphire.
All the other names work nicely as mn for Sofie. I like the name Seren the most, though in combination with Sofie my top pick would be Sofie Sarai. You can't go wrong with either (except Sapphire imho).
Oh, I didn't know that :) Interesting! I didn't mean to claim it isn't traditional - I wouldnt know as I don't really know much about names), maybe it just wasnt the right word I used. I But yeah, it's the common traditional names I usually tend to like. So when I think of traditional names those are the ones that come to mind first. Either way, it's a lovely name!
You've got an interesting list of names, with lots of lovely choices. As for a last name I would go with H@nes-P3d3rson, as I think it flows a bit better, although you can't really go wrong with either of the two.
I have never heard the name Ira, but I think it's great!! I usually prefer more traditional names, like John, and I do think Ira John sounds like a cool kid! It's my favourite from your boys list. Second favourite would be Levi Robert, but I also think Levi John would work nicely. I'm not too keen on Orville and Reginald, but that's just my personal opinion.
Your girls list is great too! My name is Eleanor and I like my name a lot. I am not a fan of Ellie/Ella/Nora and don't like when people call me that. I usually go by Lenny. Len could work as a nickname too. Perhaps you like those better? I don't like Viola a lot, but that's because the only Viola I ever met wasn't really a nice person. I think Eleanor June sounds lovely, too.
I LOVE Alice Loretta! Alice is and all-time favourite name of mine and I think it'd be a great choice! I also like Loretta June! The Sylvias I know are all 30 years or older, so I would be a bit surprised to see it on a baby or child, but it's a nice name and I think it works for all ages. Margot is not one I personally like, but taste differs. if it's an honour name and you love it, you should go for it :)
I'm very bad at suggesting names, but I think there are many lovely names on your list. My favourite is Ivy followed by Isla! Isla is my niece's middle name and I've always thought it was absolutely beautiful
I agree that Hannah and Jenna are too similar (at least for my taste), although they're both very beautiful names. My favourite on your list is Jessa. It's a beautiful name! I don't know how I feel about Cassidy and Jessa, as there's lots of s sounds in there, but if that doesn't bother you, than it'd be a great choice in my opinion! Tatum is not one I'd personally use, but it's a lovely name nontheless and I think it'd fit in well with the other three. As for Farrah I have to say my first association is Farrah from Teen Mom, which is not very positive I'm afraid. But again, it's a matter of whether it would bother you that people MIGHT initially think of Farrah Abraham or not. My sister used to watch Teen Mom, so that's why Farrah Abraham popped into my mind immediately after reading the name, though I don't know how strong the association is for other people as I'm not very familiar with the popularity of the show.
That being said my vote goes to Jessa Mae or Tatum Elizabeth
They are! And I honestly didn't even realise the obvious association with the royal prince and princess up until you mentioned it. Haha, that being said, Georgia has officially been vetoed as of right now :D I think in that case we'll most probably go with Emilia Adeline as originally planned
Just when I thought we had finally decided on a name for baby B, oh came around with yet another idea. He wants Charlotte's sister to be Georgia (nn Georgie) instead of Emilia. I have to say I do think it's a beautiful name and I like it a lot, but I started picturing her being Emilia already. We are a bit torn. I prefer Emilia Adeline and he prefers Georgia Adeline or Georgia Emilia as some sort of 'compromise'. Which one do you like better as Charlotte's sister? Also we are stuck between Elise, Katherine and Rosalie as a middle name for Charlotte.
Thank you!we are pretty set on Emilia Adeline - we really fell in love with the name. We can use Emma/Emme as a nickname, which is a name we have both loved from the start, just didn't want to use it as a stand alone name. And Adeline is not just a lovely name, but also a great way to honour my grandmother, whose name is Adelaide. We are not telling their names until they're born, but I am fairly certain she will be touched.
We weren't going to use middle names at all, but now that we really fell for Emilia Adeline, we need a mn for Charlotte as well. I love that we get to honour my family in her name, so we decided we are going to honour his side of the family in Charlotte's name. I'll list a few family names to play around with. It doesn't have to be the exact same name, but could also be one that shares a similar meaning or is a different version of the name (similar to Adelaide and Adeline)
Alexander, Jane, Kate, Stephanie
and my two favourites so far:Elizabeth (after his grandmother) - I love Elizabella!. Not sure if Elizabella is too long with Charlotte? I've first heard it when Alyssa Milano named her child Elizabella and I think it's a gorgeous name. Otherwise maybe Elise?
Rose (after his mum) - Rosalie!
My big brother got to pick my name. My parents didn't let him go wild, though, they gave him a few options to choose from. I think it's lovely to let an older sibling pick out the name for their little brother or sister and this way you don't have to worry about your child ending up with a name like Cinderella or Peppa Pig. I love my name and it's even more special to me knowing that my brother picked it out for me - even though at that time he couldn't even pronounce it correctly. My name is Eleanor and my parents said that when he said it sounded somewhat like Elno. Out of all the names they let him choose from (Eleanor, Anna, Louise and Sarah) I think he picked out the most beautiful one. Later when our little sister was born I got to choose her name from the remaining list of names and I picked Louise. I'm glad she loves her name and says she would have picked the same for herself
I'm pregnant for the first time and I don't think I could let my twins choose a name for a potential sibling entirely on their own, but I think I may do it the same way my parents did. It's great especially if you're stuck between names and cannot decide, which I think is what happened when they wanted to name me and my sister.
Thank you for suggesting Emilia! I love it and I think OH does too.
He also agreed to Adaline, surprisingly. Finally two names we both would get on board with. I'm pretty certain we'll go with either Emilia nn Emme/Emma or Adaline nn Addie. Which one do you like better with Charlotte? I can't decide... I love both names. I was also thinking maybe we could use Adaline in the middle name spot and go with Emilia Adaline - what do you think?
1. My name is Eleanor and I like it a lot, because I love classic names. It's traditional, yet timeless and doesn't go out of style (at least imo). Unlike some other traditional names it doesn't feel like a grandma name to me. Also my brother picked out my name, even though he could hardly pronounce it as a little boy. He used to call me somwhat Elno
2. I usually go by Lenny and I like that nickname. I don't know why, maybe it's just because I'm used to it. I hate when people call me Ellie. Everyone who knows me calls me Lenny, but people who don't tend to call me Ellie. I don't like the sound of it and I grew up with a horrible classmate whose name was Elizabeth nn Ellie. So I've got bad associations with that name.
3. My older brother got to pick out my name. My parents let him choose between Eleanor, Louise, Anna and Sarah. She decided to name me Eleanor, I later got to choose our youngest sister's name from the remaining list. I picked Louise for her - and she loves her name too.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Forgot to mention Eleanor in the list above as that's my name.
Out of all the names mentioned these are my favourites:
Amelia, Adaline, Katherine, Emma, Mathilda, Violet (but might be too similar to Charlotte?), Mirabel
I think Amelia just made it to the top of my list, don't know why I haven't thought of it before! I hope it doesn't get vetoed! Do you have a few nickname ideas? I'm not too fond of Amy. Millie is ok, but I don't love it.
My second favourite is Adaline / Adeline, nickname Addie... very popular, but so is Charlotte. It does bother me a liiiittle bit, but I'd rather have names I really love that are popular than compromise on a name I don't like as much, just because it's less common :)
I still can't let go of Emma. It's a name I have loved for a long time and I don't know if I should let a nickname put me off. Emme is lovely too. I like it both as a nickname, but also as a standalone name. Not sure if it would get a bit confusing, though? I'm afraid people might intuitively spell it Emma...
which one do you like best with Charlotte?
