Katherine Kirby

About Me

My name is Katherine Kirby and I am 12 years old. I live in the town of Pittsburg, Kansas with my stepfather, mother, brother, and sister. I am the second of the children and, not to sound narcissistic or anything, I am the most intelligent and talented. I love the performing arts and have never (not even kidding) been turned down for a role in a play. I have also been in 4 Junior Forensics League tournaments, 4 dance recitals, and 2 live action films. I plan on becoming an actress when I am older, with psychology being my backup plan. However, my acting career seems to be going extremely well, so I guess psychology is out the window. I also love writing poetry in my spare time and have written more than 20 poems. I hope I can publish them professionally and become famous for that as well.

In Response to Do you like your name?

I'm a Katherine Aurora. My mother and her family call me Kate, and it drives me crazy. My siblings call me Kate as well as some of my old friends from elementary school. In fourth grade, my nametag said Kate, and mid-semester, I had my teacher change it to Katherine. People got used to the change rather quickly, so I was happy. The annoying thing about my name is that there are 6 spellings for it. Now I'm in middle school, and when people ask my name I say "I'm Katherine, but please, call me Kat." And they do. I don't tell my teachers now, but when school begins again in August, I'll tell them. When I meet new friends, I'll introduce myself with my middle name, Aurora. It may get out of hand, though. It is the name of a Disney princess, after all.

I understand what you're getting at here. The Seraphim are an interest of mine as well as the Nephilim. They are fallen angels, usually with white or light gray wings. Those with pure black wings are simply called Black Wings. The name Angela you mentioned was also in these books I read. The name Angela just isn't very creative as it has the word "angel" right into it. Your other names, however, are great alternatives. Well done! Also, the name Michelle is Vietnamese for "avalanche".

Urban fantasies featuring fallen angels? Oh, you mean the Nephilim! They are a force of fallen angels, usually with white or light gray wings. I have a friend named Gabriel and he definitely looks like an angel. Also, the name you mentioned, Dashiell, is a great name. so is the name Cadael. I'll find the meaning of them as soon as possible.

In Response to Name For Character?

The names you have chosen are unique and very beautiful. They deserve another unique little brother to complete the tricycle. For your boy, I present you with the name Penamue Asael. It's a beautiful and angelic name, and I hope you like it. But if you were looking for a more common name, I'm sure the name Andrew John will do the family well. Good luck with the book!
