We have a lot to think about so we still haven't decided between Melina and the full honor name we're discussing. Thank you everyone for taking the time to share your opinions!
I love Barnaby for a dog! It sounds very old-manish and cute. I know a family with a dog named Theodore and I think it's adorable.
Gulliver is a good name but I prefer Barnaby. Barnaby sounds more like a dog's name; to me Gulliver sounds like you're honoring the book Gulliver's travels but I don't think it really suits a dog.
Wow, thank you so much everyone for your advice! I think we're going to go with a mashup as was suggested. Though I do really like Camilla Roxy Jo...Haha anyways, thank you all for your help! :)
I love the idea of Isabelle Avery. Some other ideas-
I particularly like the sound of Isabelle Carina, Isabelle Yvette, and Isabelle Joanna.
Marina Lynn, Penelope Grace, Vivienne Mae, Katherine Fleur.
I think that Natalie, Clara, and Penelope go especially well together.
Thank you for posting that video! I understand now.
Wow, thank you for your well thought-out response! I'm a little confused- what do you mean when you say names are becoming more fragmented? I don't understand why a name being part of the top 10 wouldn't mean as much anymore.
Thank you everyone for responding!
Kairo- I would think his parents maybe traveled a lot and wanted something unique, hence the 'k' instead of 'c'
Walker- Love it. Strong, masculine, and cool. I would think he was an awesome guy to hang out with.
Mateo- It's interesting! I would think he or his parents were originally from outside of the US. I imagine Mateo would be laid-back and full of stories.
Sebastien- It looks mispelled to me, I definitely prefer it with an 'a' instead of the 2nd 'e'. Sort of vintage and fun. I'd see Sebastian/-en as someone smart, funny, and maybe a little nerdy. He has a good head on his shoulders.
Ezra- One of my favorites. It's masculine without being overbearing, strong, and sweet. It's easy to say and it's just overall a great name. I'd imagine Ezra to be quiet, cool, and intelligent.
Some suggestions: Elijah, Wren, Malachi, Willem
Maybe Leela Eleanor? That's the only name I can really think of that relates to Elena. To be honest the 'l's sort of run into each other when I say it, but maybe that's just me. I like the idea of honoring her grandmother! What do you think of the first name Leda? I like the sound of Leda Elena. Some similar sounding first names you might like are Tia, Alva, and Priya. I know that wasn't what you were looking for so similar to Elena in meaning (light) are Evelyn and Evelina.
Thank you everyone for answering!!
Agreed! I like the idea of including a color/animal name but changing up the order might sound a little better.
Thank you everyone for your input!! :)
I like the sound of Jacob and Lucas together. Some other ideas you might like:
Dexter (nn Dex), Olan, Keenan, Quentin, Chris/Christopher, Phillip, James, Wesley
Here are some ideas for you:
Jalen, Gaige, Zahavi, Sevan, Adelio, Jabari, Kellan, Vihaan, Vladko, Zaire, Davion, Madden
A good way to find a name that'll fit with your sibset is to use the NameMatchmaker under the "Expert Name Tools" tab. You can enter in some of your kids names and it'll match the results to your naming style.
Thank you all so much for answering! And DH is gonna be through the roof about the consensus on Susanna haha
Thank you everyone for your replies! I meant to say in the original post that we cared most about items 1 and 3 on the list but it would be nice if we could find a name that fit all 4 of these things, though that does seem improbable. I appreciate all of your opinions and suggestions, I'm making a list of my faves to show to DH. If anyone else has any imput to give, please do!
I've never heard of that name! I'll bring it up to DH when he gets home. Thanks for answering!
Thank you for sharing those links with me! The problem is we'rel ooking for names that fit all 4 of these checkpoints, not just one or two. Told ya we were a tough bunch!:) thank you for the suggestions, though, I hadn't thought about Nola.
Hi, I'm in a similar situation except we have a few more days to figure this stuff out for ours. Cecily has Cece as a nickname. Names that have a similar sound to Cecelia: Cordelia, Aurelia, Ophelia, Odessa, Carina, Aurora, Fiona, Serena, Selena, Marina, Martina. Maybe you could find a name he likes with a nickname you like? I'm not sure exactly your style but maybe Birdy for Bridgette, Ella for Elena, Lou for Louise or Louisa, Nell for Helen/Helena/Eleonor. My suggestion that I had luck with with our names is to look for a list of nicknames online, pick out ones you like or that stand out to you, and go on a google search for names that have those nicknames. Some middle names that go with Cecelia (though I really don't believe in 'giving in' on names, keep looking and I think you'll find one you both can like): Maria, Paige, Jade, Kate or Kathryn, Mae, Anne, Ingrid. Good look, I hope you find something you like!
