I would love it if there was an entry for Mila. We didn't use it, but considered it. I'm already betting that it will be one of the fast-risers of 2011.
Interestingly enough, the American Girl books based on Samantha's life takes place in the early 1900's. Either it was an oversight on the author's part (that the character likely wouldn't have had that name..) or not, maybe she did know it was an obscure name at the time and chose it anyway.
I have always loved the book, The Scarlet Letter, and I loved the evolution of the main character Hester Prynne. I remember many, many years ago sitting in my high school lit class wondering what I would have named her instead.. Having an interest in names, I also liked how the author chose to explain that Hester named her daughter Pearl because she (Pearl) was her one great treasure and she came at such a cost. I thought it was interesting that in one book alone I could both really appreciate the naming of Pearl (within the context of the book, otherwise not a fan) and not like Hester.
