Thanks everyone for your feedback! I've been reading the comments and can definitely relate to a lot of the things you have mentioned. Really glad that I asked here -- what you have said have confirmed or made me aware of the beauty and concern associated with each name. Kind of throwing my hands in the air now not knowing what to do. :)
Same here. Llike Elizabeth on its own but it's been a struggle to decide on a nickname. Admittedly Cate is a bit advanced for me. Thanks for your feedback!
Just want to say that pictographic signature are adorable.
Yes I definitely get what you're saing about the look of the letters. Catherine-with-a-C looks a bit more coherent to me, especially in cursive. Thank you! It's good to be aware of things like this. :)
Thank you, all feedback is helpful and appreciated! Author name doesn't bother me as much, though that'll be lost street cred if she doesn't land in the sci-fi field. :)
Agree that Catherine seems a bit unexpected and that is the reason I'm torn. Personally I prefer the the C-spelling, but most people use the K versions so that might have a vibe of being a name that belongs to previous generations. Maybe this is me overthinking.
Good point! I do like how Elizabeth has so many nicknames but choosing a nickname for it is almost as hard because there are so many variations. Which one do you like the most?
For Catherine/Katherine, I'm leaning towards Kate as a nickname so Katherine seems like a natural choice. I do like the Catherine & Kate combination but my fear is that people will assume that your name starts with a K and that will likely bring confusion.
Thank you! Christine is a very pretty, probably can't use it though coz I have a friend named Christine. :)
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I agree that Diana paired with Moon is too goddessy-- something that didn't cross my mind. So glad that I asked. That'll be off the list.
The juxtaposition of C or K for Catherine/Katherine is also something that I'm torn. While both roll off the tongue nicely and sound wholesome, I like how Catherine looks softer, but am not sure how I feel about Cathy as a nn, as that will likely come up. Cate is a bit too advanced for me.
Katherine feels a bit more spunky and modern. I do like Kate as a nn but it seems there are a lot of Katherine's.
Oh good point. That's probably a bit too much.
